Mid-Afternoon Slump Solution

Picture this with me: Your alarm goes off bright and early in the morning. You roll out of bed, brush your teeth, get dressed, feed the dog/cat (if you have one), and what's the next thing you do [or it could be the first thing]?

You grab a little pick-me-up to get the morning going just right. Most of us need something to energize our mornings. Some people find it in a soda, others in a cup of coffee or tea, and others in a morning jog.

There have been studies all around the globe about what helps us wake up the best. Some studies show simply eating an apple or adding cinnamon to your breakfast oatmeal can give you that extra "pep" in your step, but for me it all comes down to the caffeine for energy longevity. Nothing replaces that first cup of coffee to start things off in the right direction.

With that being said, however, I have done a little research of my own and might just try branching out when I hit that mid-afternoon slump around 3pm... [You know what I'm talking about.]... I have discovered a GREAT remedy to keep me going until dinner. What's this wonderful caffeinated solution? You ask...

Why, chocolate of course!

Ounce for ounce, dark chocolate has more caffeine than coffee, tea, and soda! So next time you're feeling sluggish, reach for a few ounces of chocolate instead of your usual. I challenge you to give it a try and see if you're not energized for the rest of the day!
